About The Position

Duties and Functions: Ensure system compliance with transport bio-security requirements and with Company standard operating procedures Maintain day-to-day carrier relationships and monitor and report out individual carrier quality control Utilize a combination of contract pricing and service performance when assigning carriers to live animal movements Track and review the operational performance of the fleet with weekly and monthly metric report outs, conducting root cause analysis of Transport metrics not at target and implementing countermeasures and/or action plans to improve measured performance Prepare and manage weekly system-wide schedules to organize and communicate all live haul movements with high attention to detail Adhere to regulatory compliance for live animal movements and work in conjunction with our health services team to ensure all movements follow state requirements Ensure that all practices are consistent with commonly accepted standards for animal welfare and biosecurity Ensure that pig transportation is conducted in a manner that safeguards the environment, mitigates safety risk, and maintains regulatory compliance Provide after hours on-call support for Supply Management & Logistics Emergency Hotline Minimum Qualifications: Education Bachelor’s Degree preferred Agriculture, Safety, Supply Chain or Business related field preferred Experience 1 year Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of: Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel DOT Hours of Service Guidelines Interstate animal movement regulations Skill in: Microsoft Office with Intermediate to Advanced proficiency Clear and concise verbal and written communication Problem solving Attention to detail Organizational and time management Planning and scheduling in a supply chain environment Ability to: Multitask under pressure of deadlines Work both independently and as a member of a team Manage ambiguity Gain a full understanding of carrier rate structures to minimize transportation costs Collaborate with leadership and various internal departments to increase business acumen, drive performance Compensation: Targeted pay range of $59.649-$70,175 USD annually, depending on experience and qualifications. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Agriculture, Safety, Supply Chain or Business related field preferred
