About the position
The Transportation Driver at Tiny Hands Enrichment Center is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of students to and from the daycare facility. This role requires a reliable and punctual individual who values safety and is comfortable working with young children. The driver will ensure that all safety regulations are followed and maintain a positive environment during transit.
Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to and from the daycare center, ensuring timely arrival and departure according to the center's schedule.
- Maintain a welcoming, positive, and calm environment for the students during transit.
- Ensure all children are safely buckled and adhere to Massachusetts state laws regarding child safety seats.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in excellent working condition and report any maintenance issues immediately.
- Monitor weather and road conditions, adjusting travel plans when necessary to ensure safety.
- Maintain accurate records of each trip, including pick-up/drop-off times and locations.
- Communicate effectively with daycare staff and parents, updating them on any delays, schedule changes, or incidents.
Requirements
- Valid Massachusetts driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 5 years of driving experience, preferably with experience in transporting children.
- CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain these certifications prior to employment.
- Strong knowledge of local traffic laws, safety regulations, and road conditions.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check, including drug screening, driving history, and criminal record check.
- Experience working with children is preferred; patience, reliability, and excellent interpersonal skills are essential.
