Position Summary This position is responsible for the transport of solid waste from a Transfer Station to the landfill following a designated route. The driver is responsible for the safe operation, care and appearance of assigned vehicle.

Requirements

Transport solid waste to designated site.
Monitor condition of mechanical equipment and notify appropriate shop personnel of needed repairs or any operational problems including proper Pre and Post trip inspections.
Observe all safety guidelines and policies as initiated by the NTMWD.
Responsible for maintaining thorough and complete process records and logs and good housekeeping.
May be responsible for responding to various emergency situations as directed by supervisor.
Work may vary depending on task requirements and volume and may include general site cleanup.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Basic mechanical skills and knowledge of tools (screwdriver, wrench, etc.) and how to use them.
Must possess the ability to use e-mail, internet, smart phone, Tablet
Driving a District vehicle for business will be required. Employees required to drive as part of their job duties are responsible for maintaining a current, valid, and vehicle - appropriate driver' s license of their resident state.
