About The Position

The Class A Transport driver's responsibilities are customer service focus & a minimal degree of physical activity. The role primarily performs "drop and hook" deliveries.

Requirements

  • Minimum Age: 21, as per Federal D.O.T. regulations
  • Must be able to pass a D.O.T. Physical and Drug Screen
  • Must pass clearinghouse; have a good driving record, according to company requirements.
  • Must be able to operate manual shift
  • Ability to read, write, perform basic mathematical calculations, and accurately record data required.
  • Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts, as required.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Excellent customer service, verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Must be organized and detail-oriented.
  • Experience in food/beverage product delivery and customer service preferred.
  • Minimum 1-year verifiable experience driving Class A commercial vehicle preferred.
  • English is the primary language skill; however, bilingual skills may be beneficial based on business necessity.
  • Must have Class A commercial driver's license with Air Brake endorsement (must also possess a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate in accordance with FMCSA Part 391.41 prior to operating a commercial motor vehicle for the company)
  • Must be able to frequently stand, walk, kneel, reach, climb, pull, and bend.
  • Must be able to routinely lift over 60 pounds and push/pull up to 300 pounds with a handheld hook.
  • Will be required to work in very hot (100°+) and very cool (less than 32°) environments throughout the year.
  • Will also be required to work outside most of the time, regardless of the conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in food/beverage product delivery and customer service preferred.
  • Minimum 1-year verifiable experience driving Class A commercial vehicle preferred.
  • English is the primary language skill; however, bilingual skills may be beneficial based on business necessity.

Responsibilities

  • Drive truck over established route to deliver the product at customer locations.
  • Perform Motor Vehicle Inspections on trucks to conform to DOT regulations and company policy and assist with routine maintenance on trucks.
  • Exhibit courteousness toward customers, work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors, maintain a neat appearance, and follow established policies and direction of management.
  • Maintain vehicle and hours of service logs as required by DOT.
  • Maintain reliable attendance and consistent work hours.
  • Must be able to operate a handheld computer.
  • Must be able to operate a powered lift truck (pallet jack).
