Overview Manages the transport charge capture process by ensuring accurate and timely documentation, coding and charge entry of transport services. Collaborates with transport management, corporate compliance and the revenue cycle team to ensure Transport is compliant with applicable billing guidelines. Requirements

  • Associate’s degree and 3-5 years’ experience. The incumbent must understand and be able to successfully apply all billing, coding and documentation regulations related to transport or EMS services.
  • HS diploma or equivalent and 5-7 years’ experience
  • Direct work experience in lieu of a degree
  • CPC Required

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the charge capture process for all ground and air emergency medical services.
  • Collaborates with Patient Financial Services and the Professional Revenue departments to assure accurate and timely charge capture processes for the transport department.
  • Collaborates with corporate compliance and the revenue cycle team to provide education and training for transport personnel on coding and documentation.
  • Ensures Transport department data and Transport records are disseminated to management, medical directors, and administration and state agencies.
  • Attends departmental meetings, serves on departmental and/or hospital committees.
