The Transport Attendant is responsible for transporting inpatients to and from ancillary care departments. This role involves providing supportive services under the direction of the professional staff to ensure that patient care needs are met in a timely and appropriate manner. The Transport Attendant will obtain verification of patient identification prior to transport and retain the patient's chart at all times. They will utilize appropriate methods of transportation, such as wheelchairs, carts, and beds, in a safe and efficient manner. The position also requires implementing clinical and technical aspects of support services in accordance with established policies and procedures. Enhancing positive relations with all customers, including patients, families, and Center staff, is essential, as is demonstrating responsibility and accountability for interactions. The Transport Attendant is also responsible for cleaning and disinfecting transport monitors, wheelchairs, and gurneys, and must adhere to FMC Service Standards and Core Values.
