About The Position
The Transplant RN Coordinator is responsible for following documented physician/licensed independent provider orders within the boundaries of the Nurse Practice Act and established standards, policies, and practice guidelines. The role involves organizing and planning work with input from the patient/family, demonstrating sound clinical judgment and resource management. The coordinator operates independently in day-to-day functions, seeking guidance from the Director as needed, particularly when major impacts on activity occur outside the unit. The position requires strong clinical experiences in patient care, accurately documenting direct, age-specific care based on medical orders and an integrated, multidisciplinary plan of care. The coordinator must exhibit expertise in assessing, coordinating, and caring for complex patients, families, or communities, addressing actual or potential health problems. Responsibilities include safely administering prescribed medications, identifying incompatibilities and interactions, and assisting the healthcare team in preventing illness and injury, maintaining wellness, and providing comfort. The role also involves providing direction, education, and leadership.
