About The Position

The Transplant Coordinator is responsible for collaborating with the health care team to develop theory-based patient care for those patients undergoing solid organ transplantation (heart, liver, lung, kidney, pancreas or multi-organ) from referral through long term post-transplant follow-up. Responsible for ensuring the coordination of the clinical aspects of transplant patient and living donor care permissible within their license and acts as a liaison between a kidney transplant program and dialysis facilities, as applicable. Promotes health and the prevention of injury and disease, serves as an advocate and educator, mentors, delegates, and provides feedback to their support team. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • License/Registration issued by Florida or Compact State.
  • RN License.
  • Two (2) years of critical care experience.
  • Experience in nursing and transplantation with a focus on long-term outcomes.

  • Knowledge of evidence-based practice related to transplant and organ disease management.
  • Proficient diagnostic skills for initiating and interpreting relevant tests.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) documentation.

  • Ability to provide patient education and consultation.
