Requirements

• 1 year of transplant, critical care experience
• Critical care experience or palliative care of patients with life-limiting or life-threatening illness
• RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure State of Florida or multi state
• ACLS if in BMT unit
• BCLS - Basic Life Support

Responsibilities

• Participates in 24-hr on-call schedule
• Facilitates/coordinates individualized evaluations for potential organ recipients or living donors which includes: collection of patient medical data, patient/family education, identification of co-morbidities/contraindications to transplant (or living donation), collaboration with transplant team members.
• Coordinates patient care in outpatient setting to achieve optimal healthcare recovery.
• Reinforces patient education.
• Monitors/assesses patient for potential post-transplant complications.
• Coordinates the entry and the integration of patients into the program by facilitating appointments for tests, procedures, and required family services.
• Coordinates and expedites all BMT protocols and informed consents.
• Communicates and collaborates with multi-disciplinary team and other healthcare personnel relevant to the program and the status of upcoming patients.
