About The Position
Jim Riehl’s Friendly Automotive Group is seeking a Transmission Technician Apprentice to join our team at our Warren location. This is a full-time, paid apprenticeship opportunity for an individual looking to build a long-term career specializing in Chrysler/Stellantis transmission systems. Position Overview The Transmission Technician Apprentice will work under the guidance of experienced transmission technicians while receiving hands-on, paid training. This role is ideal for someone with a solid mechanical foundation who is eager to learn, grow, and pursue required certifications.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- Clean driving record
- Michigan Motor Vehicle Apprentice Permit (available through the Michigan Secretary of State)
- General knowledge of vehicle systems
- Willingness to learn and be trained in Chrysler/Stellantis transmission systems
- Must pursue Michigan and/or ASE transmission certifications
- Basic mechanic’s tool set
Nice To Haves
- Michigan Mechanic’s License for Automobile & Light Truck Transmission or ASE equivalent
- Michigan Light Truck Manual Transmission, Front & Rear Drive Axles certification or ASE equivalent
- Prior Stellantis/Chrysler experience
