About The Position

The position involves working with the Bristol Disney Entertainment & ESPN Transmission team, which is responsible for the 24/7 monitoring and operational sustainment of linear and digital distribution for ESPN, ABC, and other Disney networks. The role focuses on ensuring the successful delivery of sports and entertainment content to millions of viewers globally, utilizing cutting-edge technology and managing a global content supply chain. The team is tasked with troubleshooting, quality control, and enhancing operational workflows in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Awareness of digital distribution equipment for audio and video satellite uplinks and downlinks.
• Basic knowledge of MPEG-2, MPEG-4, and HEVC digital compression systems.
• Understanding of RF related test equipment and IP based transport protocols (HLS, RTMP, SRT, unicast, multicast).
• Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience working in a 24x7 technical operation center.

Nice To Haves

• Prior broadcasting experience or military experience in transmission, satellites, RF, or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Support 24/7 monitoring and operational sustainment for linear and digital distribution of ESPN, ABC, and Disney networks.
• Interact with internal departments and outside service providers for live feed acquisition planning.
• Troubleshoot and resolve daily operational problems in collaboration with other departments and partners.
• Perform quality control and corrective actions to enhance product delivery.
• Comprehend and apply applicable SOPs and workflows for assigned transmission responsibilities.
• Participate in interdepartmental meetings regarding projects affecting the Transmission department.
• Stay updated on industry trends and new technology.
