About The Position

The role is responsible for managing a portfolio of projects related to the acquisition of land and rights necessary for the construction and maintenance of electric transmission and distribution lines. This position requires effective leadership, communication, and coordination to ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and economically while achieving customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in an applicable field with eight years of related experience, or a Bachelor degree with six years of related experience.
  • Experience in business, management, real estate, or electric transmission and distribution right-of-way activities.
  • Prior experience in a leadership position and/or project management is a plus.
  • Excellent written, organizational, presentation, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to present complex issues to senior leadership and lead teams to successful solutions.
  • Extensive knowledge in right-of-way of electric lines and substations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, develop, review and coordinate right-of-way project plans, schedules, budgets, tools, and staff.
  • Assist the regional right-of-way team in ensuring efficient and timely performance of project work activities.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate auditing requirements around estimating practices and cost expenditures.
  • Act as an expert witness and assist legal counsel in court actions related to electric transmission and distribution facilities.
  • Approve vouchers for payments related to land acquisition and rights.
  • Review periodic status and costs of managed right-of-way projects and track quality and performance.
  • Monitor the closeout process and recommend process improvements based on lessons learned.
  • Develop working relationships with project teams and suppliers to foster teamwork and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide guidance and feedback to improve systems, procedures, schedules, and costs.
  • Represent Transmission right-of-way in internal and external process improvement initiatives.
