About The Position

The Automotive Transmission Rebuilder is responsible for diagnosing, rebuilding, and repairing automotive transmission systems to specifications. A knowledge of electrical and computer systems is a plus. The role involves explaining technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals, which may include other teammates and customers as required. The technician will assist other technicians in performing technical activities and continuously learn new technical information and techniques through informal training sessions to stay abreast with the rapidly changing automotive technology. Additionally, the position requires keeping store management aware of mechanical repair problems as they occur and maintaining an organized service department.

Requirements

• Minimum of 10+ years’ experience working as an Automotive Transmission Rebuilder.
• Hold a valid driver’s license.
• Own professional grade tools.
• Experience with mechanical diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience specific to transmission rebuilding.
• Ability to communicate solutions to others.
• ASE certifications a plus.
• Safe working knowledge of shop tools and equipment.
