About The Position

The Transmission Planning Manager will lead innovative projects in power system modeling and analysis, mentoring a talented team while ensuring compliance with industry standards. This remote position involves advising clients on interconnection processes and developing models for generating units and inverters, with a focus on enhancing the reliability and efficiency of power systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in power systems engineering or equivalent experience in power systems analysis.
• Minimum 12 years of experience in wide-area power system modeling, analysis, and planning.
• Proficient with power system modeling tools such as Siemens PTI PSS®E and PowerGem TARA.
• Previous supervisory experience in a related field.
• Experience with PSCAD software is a plus.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with rules, tariffs, guidelines, and processes of system operators (ISOs/RTOs).

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage innovative projects in power system modeling and analysis.
• Mentor and develop less experienced staff in the field of transmission planning.
• Advise clients on study processes and methods used by ISOs/RTOs and transmission owners.
• Assess the reliability and efficiency of power systems and ensure compliance with standards.
• Develop models for generating units and inverters, evaluating alternatives for interconnections.
