This position is part of the Transmission Planning team and supports transmission planning, transmission operations, and North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) compliance for Florida Municipal Power Agency (FMPA or the Agency) and its municipal electric utility members. This position supports a broad range of long-term planning and short-term operations-horizon transmission planning related power system analysis, studies, and functions. These include transmission system load flow, short circuit, transient stability, system reliability, and interconnection studies and evaluations for FMPA member requirements. Operating horizon planning studies include next-day planning, seasonal studies, and weekly coordination of outages and confirmation of Available Transmission Capacity (ATC). Collects, manages, calculates and provides modeling data representing FMPA assets and member assets as required for Agency’s Planning Coordinator function, and related work as apparent or assigned. Supports FMPA’s NERC Compliance function on all applicable Transmission Operator (TO), Transmission Planner (TP) and/or Planning Authority/Planning Coordinator (PA/PC) functions (as applicable) registrations in collaboration with team members and outside subject matter experts to support team-wide working knowledge of evidentiary and documentation requirements to ensure Agency meets strategic goal of zero compliance violations. Works effectively in a highly collaborative matrix environment that includes generation engineering and operations staff with an emphasis on working to grow team capabilities in the area of compliance expertise and requirements while adhering to FERC’s Standards of Conduct for Transmission Providers. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Transmission Planning Supervisor.
