About The Position

The Transmission Line Principal Engineer works with the Early Stage Project Manager to define and influence project requirements and scope with the Development Group. Projects can begin as FERC 1000 competitive transmission project proposals or as greenfield projects for the client's affiliates. The role involves securing engineering consulting resources, coordinating with project stakeholders, and ensuring successful project delivery through various engineering deliverables.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil/Structural Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of direct experience in the development, design, engineering, and construction of High Voltage Transmission line projects.
• Strong knowledge of transmission design and excellent communication and project management skills.
• Technical competence in understanding one line and three-line diagrams, general arrangements, and other common deliverables.
• Ability to provide value engineering and ensure design quality.

Nice To Haves

• Project Engineering and/or Project Management experience.
• PMP and/or P.E. in related discipline.
• Proficiency with industry tools such as PLSCADD, Microsoft products, Auto-CAD, Primavera.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Early Stage Project Manager to define project requirements and scope.
• Secure engineering consulting resources by developing a scope of work, securing bids, and awarding work.
• Coordinate with project stakeholders to develop and secure necessary permits and engineering data.
• Source, select, and contract geotechnical, survey, engineering, and construction services.
• Support the E&C Cost Estimating Team with scope assumptions.
• Coordinate engineering deliverables for competitive proposals and project design and construction.
• Represent E&C's interests on assigned projects, including presentations and briefings on progress and risk mitigation.
