About The Position

Eversource Energy is the largest Energy delivery company in New England. We support 4.4 million Gas and Electric customers across CT, MA and NH. Individuals will learn to perform work involved in the construction, operation, and maintenance of the electric system. The position will likely involve shift and weekend hours and on-call assignments. The successful candidate must live within 30 minutes of the reporting location.

Requirements

• High school diploma supplemented by a one-year course in trade school or equivalent.
• Ability to climb poles skillfully with Lineman's climbers.
• Qualified to hold a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Successfully pass the Construction and Skilled Trades Test (CAST) Test and the agility assessment.
• Live within 30 minutes of the reporting location.

Responsibilities

• Perform work involved in the construction, operation, and maintenance of the electric system.
• Work at the Line Mechanic level including transmission work.
• Respond to emergency situations to meet customers' needs.
• Assist during emergencies outside of normal responsibilities, work hours, and location.
• Acquire a basic knowledge of the Company Safety Manual.
• Use hand/power tools and equipment pertinent to line construction and maintenance.
• Climb and work on poles, ladders, and other elevated structures.
