Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in engineering, engineering technology, engineering physics, biosystems engineering, mathematical science, physical science or related science.
  • One or more years of post-Bachelors engineering experience relating to the area of engineering specialization required to perform the job.
  • Driver's license

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil, electrical, or mechanical engineering from an accredited university (or related field/equivalent experience) and a minimum of 5 years of experience in transmission line or structural design.
  • Proficiency in routing and crafting transmission lines using PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, & PLS-TOWER, including the capability to craft structures and foundations and provide structure loading trees.
  • Familiarity with industry codes and standards such as the NESC, ASCE, ACI, and IEEE, with a demonstrated ability to develop engineering design standards and procedures.
  • A proven track record of completing projects on time and within budget, including the ability to review vendor drawings and ensure dedication to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience mentoring and training engineering staff while providing the support necessary to develop fellow engineers and collaborators.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively convey engineering designs, standards, and processes to other engineers and collaborators.

Responsibilities

  • Design high-voltage transmission lines (69kV–765kV), structures, and foundations using PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and PLS-TOWER, including the creation of structure loading trees.
  • Prepare comprehensive Construction Documents as Engineer of Record, develop detailed engineering reports, and define project scopes and cost estimates.
  • Review and approve vendor drawings for specification compliance and perform field assessments and inspections to ensure rigorous quality standards.
  • Provide authoritative technical support and mentorship to engineers and construction crews, fostering professional growth and project success.
  • Partner with internal teams and stakeholders to implement complex projects that meet ambitious organizational standards and timelines.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on internal task forces and represent the organization on external committees, industry conferences, and at standard-setting events.
