This position offers the opportunity to directly apply knowledge of transmission line engineering, including conductors, hardware, insulation, structures, foundations, and electrical principles. Responsibilities include designing transmission lines in the 69kV to 765kV range, performing structural analysis and design of various pole, lattice, framed, and guyed structures, and executing foundation designs. The role also involves conducting conductor selection studies, shielding, grounding, and induction studies. Key tasks include developing cost estimates and schedules, preparing specifications for material procurement and construction, and specifying transmission line components. The engineer will model transmission lines in PLS-CADD, determine right-of-way requirements, calculate conductor sags, and develop transmission line plan and profile drawings, as well as review vendor submittals. This role features a hybrid work arrangement, requiring three days in the office and allowing two days of remote work. A generous relocation package is available depending on location. The position also emphasizes solving engineering problems using modern tools like automation and AI to improve workflows, reduce rework, and deliver cost-effective designs, including building or using automation for calculations, summarizing technical documents, or drafting design documentation with strong engineering judgment and verification.
