About The Position

This position involves supervising the field line work typically performed by a transmission line crew in the construction, maintenance, and operation of transmission lines and stations. The supervisor is responsible for planning and scheduling work, ensuring a safe and efficient flow of activities, including requesting system clearances and outages. The role requires leading crews in a manner consistent with the company's cultural pillars and leadership framework, and ensuring all work adheres to Company safety rules and practices. Requirements

High School graduate or GED.
Must have sufficient knowledge and skill to perform the duties listed above.
Possess thorough knowledge of line construction and maintenance activities that are gained through experience such as Transmission Line Mechanic A.
This experience would typically be attained with 5 years of construction or maintenance and operation of transmission lines.
A physical abilities assessment is required for this position.
Must have a good working knowledge of transmission line safety rules and practices and be proficient in the application of resuscitation and first aid.
Must have good working knowledge of transmission circuitry.
Must possess and maintain a valid commercial driver's license.
Must meet all vehicle operation requirements as designated by federal and/or state law.
Must have a good working knowledge of the tools, materials and equipment used.
Must have a good working knowledge of the Company's transmission and distribution standards.
Must possess the ability to deal with employees, customers and the general public in a courteous and proper manner.
Successful candidate must live within a 45-minute safe driving distance of the facility.

Responsibilities

Supervise line crews in the construction, maintenance and operation of transmission lines assuring safe work rules and practices are being followed.
Assure the proper and safe use of tools and equipment, and the safety, welfare and training of personnel assigned.
Procure materials, tools and equipment as required.
Comply with practices, policies and standards of the Company that apply to transmission line work.
Maintain good relations with employees and the safety to the public in regard to Company facilities and operations.
Understand and apply the provisions of the Management Information and Policy Manual; labor contracts, employee handbook and applicable employee handbook supplements.
Attend supervisory, site visit, and work scheduling meetings as required.
Maintain contacts between assigned functions and other respective parts of the Company.
Keep immediate supervisor advised on activities and make and maintain records and reports as required.
Perform the duties of a Transmission Line Mechanic-A as required.
Make effective recommendations for employment, promotion, discipline and discharge of personnel assigned.
