About The Position

LCRA is looking for an Equipment Operator to join the team! This position is a part of a 15-man crew that works on transmission line projects throughout Central Texas. The team travels to project sites on a weekly basis and project durations can last from days to months. Do you have experience operating equipment like bulldozers, cranes, boom trucks, digging machines and/or transport equipment? Then, we want you to apply! You will be trusted to: - Operate equipment as assigned for construction projects. - Maintain equipment. Inspect, clean, adjust, lubricate, and make minor adjustments and repairs on the equipment or may make arrangements for major repairs and overhaul as needed. - Transport heavy equipment (e.g., backhoe, dump truck, small excavator and large excavator). - Understand and follow permitted loads, and all safety departmental policies and procedures. - Perform work by traveling independently or with a small crew to various locations (substations, power plants, water systems, etc.) as scheduled.

Requirements

  • Zero or more years of experience in operating large equipment, such as bulldozers, backhoes, excavators, cranes, tractor trailers, farm equipment or other machinery.
  • Driver's license

Nice To Haves

  • Class A Texas commercial driver’s license
  • Previous transmission or distribution line experience
