Position Purpose: The TRANSMISSION & DISTRIBUTION INTERN role within the organization will take on capital blanket work from initiation to completion during the extent of their time. The T&D Intern will work under the direction of the Supervisor of T&D to perform field inspections, with Veolia and contractor crews, perform updates to Standard Operating Procedures, and work in conjunction with planning to revise T&D work schedules. The T&D intern will also work in conjunction with GIS, assisting in the improvement of mapping systems from in-field changes. Internships at Veolia: Gain hands-on experience in at least one career function from Corporate, Engineering, Maintenance, Manufacturing, Operations, Sales, Supply Chain or Technology. Primary Duties/Responsibilities: Assist in the creation of weekly and daily job plans for the T&D and Production Departments. Review and adjust plans daily. Ensure backlog and available information is reviewed to insure proper prioritization of jobs. Daily discuss activities and backlog with supervisors and the engineering department to insure work is scheduled appropriately and executed successfully. Develop, continuously improve, and ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) in the Systems Office. Maintain and modify Planning SOPs. Indirectly supervise administrative functions performed by administrative support related with work planning. Responsible for being on emergency call and to respond to emergency T&D operations. Perform other duties as required by management & supervision. Comply with all Veolia Company and HSE procedures and policies. Review daily and weekly schedules for Contractor work to be performed. Participate in weekly Contractor calls with management. Visit Contractor Job Sites on an as-needed-basis and record all required Veolia & Veolia-contractor job data / checklists. Includes; job location, start time of work, number of Contractors on site, equipment on site, size of trench and roadway cut, underground obstructions encountered, materials utilized, traffic control, and total duration of work. Read, understand, and enforce all Contract terms with Construction Vendors. Work Environment: Environments vary by internship function from office to field to plant.
