About The Position

Positions so classified are responsible for the activities in a section of the transmission and distribution division of Lafayette Utilities System. Incumbents supervise and direct personnel engaged in construction, installation, maintenance, and/or repair related to electric transmission and distribution lines. The job incumbent reports to the Transmission and Distribution Operations Supervisor has supervisory responsibilities which may include Lineman Foremen, Line Troubleshooters, and line crews depending on assigned section. Position is subject to 24-hour call and overtime. Work is potentially hazardous.

Requirements

• Graduation from high school supplemented by vocational technical school course work in industrial electricity and extensive experience in overhead and underground electric distribution system construction and maintenance, plus some related supervisory experience, or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Possession of valid Louisiana driver’s license.
