About The Position

LCRA is hiring a Transmission Construction Crew Lead to help guide crews building the critical infrastructure of Central Texas! As a leader in our internal substation construction team, you will travel across Central Texas worksites (with travel accommodations provided). Working under the direction of a Field Supervisor, you’ll assist with coordination and supervision of skilled substation construction teams: leading daily tasks, monitoring progress, and reporting status updates within project scope and schedule. Requirements

  • Seven or more years of experience in electrical or mechanical equipment installation, maintenance or repair in a high-voltage environment or transmission line installation, maintenance or repair.
  • A degree(s) in electrical power theory, electronics, instrumentation, controls, industrial or mechanical maintenance or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
  • Class A Texas commercial driver's license

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of Northwestern Lineman College training curriculum or other Journeyman level apprentice training in electric utility knowledge.
  • More than four years of field-related experience in transmission or substation work.
  • More than one year in a formal leadership role with direct reports.
  • Experience with project-based work.
  • Diverse experience or knowledge in field utility functions, including systems controls and protective relaying, substation equipment maintenance, equipment diagnostics and commissioning, project management, substation engineering/design.

Responsibilities

  • Independently lead small crews.
  • Oversee daily tasks and ensure they are completed safely, correctly, and efficiently.
  • Actively support field supervisors with project oversight and recommendations.
  • Train crew members as needed and provide performance feedback to field supervisor.
