About The Position

Equality Now seeks an experienced translator to translate a report (approximately 65 pages) on sexual violence against women, including women with disabilities, from English into Russian. The goal is to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency of the translation with human rights and legal terminology. The consultant will work closely with Equality Now’s team and deliver high-quality, publication-ready text within tight deadlines.

Requirements

• Native-level fluency in Russian and strong proficiency in English.
• Proven translation skills, particularly in legal and human rights contexts.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and deliver high-quality result.

Nice To Haves

• Experience translating materials on gender-based violence, women’s rights, or disability rights.
• Familiarity with international human rights standards, especially regarding sexual violence, disability, and access to justice.
• Knowledge of criminal and criminal procedure terminology.
• Prior experience working with NGOs or international organisations.
