About The Position

The Translation Imaging Lead fully owns the development of the strategic guidance for the clinical and biomarkers imaging portfolio and works towards drug development deliverables. You will primarily focus on ensuring that oncology clinical programs are using appropriate imaging techniques in all phases of development, which entails directly working with development teams within the drug development process. The Translation Imaging Lead will lead development of radiomics algorithms as tools for effective delivery of precision medicine and will enable preclinical and clinical teams by scouting and incorporating state-of-the-art imaging strategies and suggesting (emerging) imaging approaches and techniques that will aid the development of new drugs. In this role you will strategically influence the use of imaging biomarkers for decision-making purposes from early development through submission and will strive to improve the overall excellence in this area. You will achieve the above by relying on internal resources throughout the organization, in particular in Research, Development, Radiology and DS&AI and by leveraging external academic and vendor relationships and that clinical and biomarker imaging activities adhere to regulatory and industry standards and ensures the regulatory acceptance of new imaging biomarkers when appropriate. The Senior Director, Translation Imaging Lead will collaborate with GCIS in developing imaging strategies and support as well as monitor their successful operational implementation.

  • Must have a Medical doctor (MD or MD/PhD) or imaging scientist (PhD) trained in radiology, nuclear medicine, imaging physics or image analysis including some industry experience, OR a Master's degree trained in radiology, nuclear medicine, imaging physics or image analysis including industry experience in Clinical Imaging OR a Bachelor's degree trained in radiology, nuclear medicine, imaging physics or image analysis including significant industry experience.
  • Proven track record in research and/or clinical development (including first experiences in oncology applications with emphasis on radiological and/or PET/SPECT imaging and biomarker use).
  • Thorough understanding of imaging and clinical development in oncology; experiences with regulatory framework for biomarkers, and use of imaging for registration of Oncology products are helpful.
  • Experience interacting with imaging CROs.
  • Outstanding scientific reputation as evidenced by publications in peer-reviewed journals and preferably as speaker of conferences and strong network in the academic and clinical imaging community.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (fluency in English, oral and written).
