Position Overview: Reporting to the Translation Coordination Team Leader, and as an integral part of Questel’s Program Support USA/EMEA Team, this role is responsible for the planning, scheduling, tracking, and delivery of the language translation phase of projects in the project management cycle. Working with project managers, this role works to understand client business objectives and spearheads planning and execution internally to ensure Questel services are delivered on time and with the utmost quality. Principal Duties & Responsibilities: Accept projects from project managers Assign projects to vendors or internal resources via SAVANTA Track project status Deliver projects to the File Formatting Team Send linguistic questions to project managers or linguistic teams Process purchase orders in SAVANTA Consult with other Translation Coordinators on questions about projects and send them to project managers Coordinate with other Questel teams Responsible to ensure profitability of projects and to meet monthly revenue goals Process feedback to in-house linguists, vendors, and/or from filing agents Coordinate with Vendor Services on vendor-related issues Communication with project managers about contingency plans for changes in scope/schedule/resources Process final project deliveries to agents, project managers, etc. Address purchase order concerns with Accounting Ensure adequate translation resources are available for current and future projects Process test evaluations in SAVANTA Work collaboratively across multiple teams to communicate and manage expectations during all phases of a project Communicate to project managers any issues that might impact Questel’s relationships with clients Provide detailed information to cross functional teams to ensure absolutely accuracy in the final file Compile legal documents to attach to the application as needed Manage updating glossaries/term bases Escalate feedback needs through proper channels Complete or compile monthly reports and alert management of error trends Help guide Associate Translation Coordinators, as needed Collaborate with development team in reporting bugs Work on special projects and other duties as assigned by management Qualifications & Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Professional translation experience or other similar language industry experience preferred, but not required. In addition, any combination of education, experience and training which provides the following knowledge, skills, and abilities: Working knowledge of SAVANTA, Trados, and MS applications Excellent analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills Willingness to occasionally manage and deliver projects during non-standard hours Outstanding planning, scheduling, and coordination skills Highly motivated with a willingness to take initiative and complete assignments Ability to stay on task with minimal supervision and regularly report on progress Quick learner with the ability to multi-task in occasionally stressful situations Proficient in Microsoft Office, advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, regression analysis, etc.) a plus Good time management skills and ability to complete a heavy workload within an established time frame Participate in a culture of responsiveness to strengthen relationships and ensure the needs and time of others are met and respected Fluent in English Fluency in a second language, other than English, or skill in translation/legal industries is preferred, but not required Supervision Received: Supervision is provided by the Translation Coordination Team Leader Supervision Exercised: None Physical/Sensory/Mental Demands: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
