About The Position

Under general supervision to provide instruction to students within credential authorized service; supervise the classroom and playground activities of students; plan as necessary with other staff members for the effective delivery of instruction for students; maintain records to demonstrate and evaluate students educational/social/emotional progress; and to do related work as required.

Requirements

• B.A./B.S. degree from an accredited college or university
• Teaching credential authorizing service in a general education classroom
• Knowledge of and the ability to apply current teaching techniques in a variety of areas
• Strong subject matter knowledge, laws and applicable sections of Federal rules and regulations, State Education Code and District and school policies, as well as the Board's goals and objectives
• The abilities to relate in a positive manner with students, to discipline students fairly and firmly, to communicate in an effective manner with parents, students and other professionals, understand and follow both oral and written directions, work within an established schedule, maintain and interpret records, work confidentially, read, interpret and follow regulations, policies and procedures and work cooperatively with others in the school and district setting
• Valid child/adult CPR certificate
• Valid Appropriate California Credential
• CLAD/EL Certification required
• Early Childhood Degree or Credential or 24 Early Childhood Education Units

Responsibilities

• Provide daily instruction to students in authorized and assigned subject areas
• Provide for adequate planning for students' instructional programs both long and short term
• Provide an orderly, functional and attractive learning environment for students
• Work cooperatively with others in the school to provide for coordinated services for students
• Maintain necessary records to evaluate student learning and periodically report that progress to the parent/student/supervisor
• Maintain regular contact with the parents/guardians about student progress
• Maintain high level of skill and expertise in the subject matters assigned to teacher and in strategies by which to teach those subjects
• Implement district and school policies regarding the instruction of students
