About The Position

CompleteRx is looking for a dynamic Transitional/Interim Director of Pharmacy to provide leadership and strategic direction at our partnered hospitals. The individual will travel and serve as an interim DOP until the hire of a DOP for the hospital. To meet the needs of our hospital, the position requires at least 80% travel across the U.S. Candidates must be based in: Florida (Fort Myers, Miami, Orlando, Tampa), Georgia (Atlanta), Texas (Dallas, Houston, San Antonio). This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Director of Pharmacy who is adept at managing change. As a liaison between CompleteRx and hospital administration, the individual will work on special projects and establish relationships.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an ACPE accredited Pharmacy School with a BS Pharmacy or higher degree.
  • Currently licensed to practice pharmacy in the state of assignment as determined by CompleteRx.
  • Pharmacy management experience required, 7+ years preferred.
  • 80%-100% overnight travel (4 nights per week on average).
  • Travel will be overnight in hotels, with flying and some driving involved.
  • Occasional weekend work.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Complete projects on time, within budget, and with a high level of quality.
  • Utilize project management methodology per Project Management Professional (PMP) guidelines.
  • Acts as the subject matter expert on pharmacy operations.
  • Directs the daily operations of the department in delivering safe and effective pharmaceutical care to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric, psychiatric, obstetric, and oncology patients.
  • Oversees state, federal and regulatory compliance with: USP 797 guidelines, JC or DNV requirements, 340B, if applicable, state and federal pharmacy laws.
  • Oversees controlled substance accountability including: Monthly controlled substance inventories, timely resolution of controlled substance discrepancies, anesthesiologist audits, nurse vending audits (vends vs. charts).
  • Responsible for the medication distribution process including: Turn-around-time of STAT and routine medications, appropriateness of overrides (if the hospital uses dispensing cabinets), preparation and dispensing errors/pocket miss-fills.
  • Custom projects as needed.
  • Facilitate rapid cycle process improvement events.
  • Utilize Plan Do Study Act methodology.
  • Function as a facilitator of rapid cycle improvement events.
  • Prepare workflow maps, collect data, write policies, document procedures, and training materials.
  • Participate in company initiatives to achieve corporate strategic objectives.
  • Other duties as assigned.
