About The Position

The Transition Coordinator/Clinician at Granite Academy plays a vital role in supporting middle and high school-aged students facing emotional and psychiatric challenges. This position involves working directly with students to enhance their academic, social, and vocational skills while promoting emotional well-being. The role includes designing classes that teach real-life skills, managing a small clinical caseload, and collaborating with families and educational teams to ensure student success.

Requirements

• Master's degree in a related field is required.
• Independent License preferred.
• Strong communication skills to interact positively with students, families, and collaterals.
• Ability to provide physical interventions and verbal de-escalations.

• Experience working with youth in educational settings.
• Familiarity with IEP processes and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with students to support their academic and social development.
• Design and run classes for students in grades 9-12 focusing on real-life skills.
• Identify and document important therapeutic issues for students.
• Attend and participate in IEP meetings, engaging with parents and guardians.
• Provide classroom support, including behavior management and therapeutic strategies.
