About The Position
AECOM is seeking an entry-level Transit / Urban Transportation Planner I to join the growing transportation planning team in Detroit, Michigan. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Planning and project development activities for transportation projects under supervision of more senior staff. Supports planning studies and reports for new and updated plans and programs. Collects a variety of statistical data and prepares reports and maps on topics, such as census information, land use, roadway network, crash records, and asset inventories. Utilizes Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to analyze data and prepare detailed maps for use in reports. Conducts concept level evaluation of transportation improvement options. Documents and presents findings on transportation planning projects. Research current transportation related topics at local, State, and Federal levels. Research project options and documents findings. Assists with other duties assigned by senior staff and/or Project Managers.
