MV Transportation is seeking a Transit Planner who works with our fixed route divisions to optimize the efficiency of Driver scheduling utilizing Optibus technology. The position will be responsible for analyzing operator schedules to maximize profitability and reduce overall driver costs. The primary activity will be producing run cuts for both operational and pricing purposes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required
• Strategic mindset with ability to provide deliverables and build strong working relationships with stakeholders
• Proven ability to motivate teams to achieve project success
• A working knowledge of Optibus-related projects and products
• Possess strong communication skills with the ability to communicate across the organization with diplomacy at different levels
• Capacity to apply analytical thinking, creative problem solving, and conflict resolution to daily tasks
• Must be well-organized detail-oriented, and disciplined
• Natural ability to work well with customers and demonstrate expertise and consultative abilities to guide them
• Capability to work in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of Optibus Scheduling, Planning, and Rostering is strongly preferred
• Knowledge of Optibus Analytics, Metrics and Reports modules and Electric Vehicle modules is strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Ownership of Optibus related projects companywide to include creation of best practices, making efficiency recommendations, and developing divisional needs analyses for fixed route operations
• Guiding and consulting the General Managers and planners in achieving the best outcomes as it relates to fixed route run cuts and optimization
• Creation of run cuts for various divisions and departments company wide – combining the need to create efficiencies, meet CBA requirements, and improve overall driver and client satisfaction
• Creation of relief vehicle schedules to minimize capital needs and drive to savings where possible
• Creating best practices for data extraction and import into Optibus
• Modeling fixed route services for bids on RFP’s
• Providing consultation to either existing or prospective clients
• Acting as a SME with external clients as it relates to sales engagements and representing, for MV, the deep technical knowledge in the fixed route space
• Lead the team of run cut analysts and help develop them in the area of fixed route run cutting
