This position is responsible for supervising the city's public transit program. The individual will train, assign, direct, schedule, supervise, evaluate, and discipline personnel. Develop a daily bus schedule and routes using dispatch software; schedule vehicle maintenance and maintain related records. Balance and verify drivers' receipts, payment tokens, and prepare deposits. Processes monthly billing for transit contracts & Medicaid billing. Prepares reports for City Council, assist with grant funds, maintain: advertising, ride contracts, and department inventory. Performs other related duties.

  • Trains, assigns, directs, schedules, supervises, evaluates, and disciplines personnel.
  • Participates in the selection of staff and provides or coordinates staff training.
  • Develops daily bus schedules and routes using dispatch software.
  • Schedules vehicle maintenance and maintains related records.
  • Balances and verifies drivers' receipts, payment tokens, and prepares deposits.
  • Sells tokens to clients and maintains related records.
  • Reviews and approves employee timesheets.
  • Processes monthly billing for transit contracts.
  • Processes monthly Medicaid billing.
  • Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for the City Council and the State Department of Transportation.
  • Assists in securing and managing grant funds for the purchase of new vehicles and equipment.
  • Maintains all transit ride contracts.
  • Maintains and secures transit advertising.
  • Maintains department inventory.
  • Resolves customer complaints.
  • Performs facility safety inspections.
  • Responds to after-hours calls from employees and school district; makes necessary changes to driver/route schedules.
  • Updates social media accounts.
  • Operates a transit bus to transport passengers as required.
  • Performs related duties.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of program management.
  • Knowledge of grant development and management principles.

  • Knowledge of relevant federal and state laws, county ordinances, and department policies and procedures.
