About The Position

Our Lamar Transit office in Phoenix, Arizona is now hiring a new General Manager to help us bring innovative advertising campaigns to life for brands in Phoenix, and the surrounding areas. The General Manager is directly responsible for every department in their location. The General Manager must ensure the company meets the established sales budget, maintains a constant leasing effort, operates within all applicable safety guidelines, adheres to all federal and state laws, and ensures that the company is operating according to Lamar and ethical standards. The General Manager is responsible for operating the plant in a profitable and safe manner and is the first-line manager in the company. Why Lamar?   • Ability to manage the company’s bank account and checkbook.

  • Detailed knowledge of Lamar, OSHA, DOT, federal, and state safety regulations.
  • Working knowledge of all departments within the company, including operations
  • Ability to explain the outdoor advertising business to customers and account executives from installation and product standpoints.
  • Skill in projecting and monitoring budgets.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • 5 years of experience in outdoor advertising is required.
  • 5 years of prior management experience

Nice To Haves

  • 7 or more years of experience in outdoor advertising are preferred.
  • At least two years of experience in sales and/or leasing, as it relates to outdoor advertising, is preferred.
  • College degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • Direct responsibility for, and the supervision of, the hiring, training, motivating, evaluating, disciplining, and terminating of all plant personnel.
  • Assume overall responsibility for maintaining sales at acceptable levels for the plant.
  • Maintain an accurate count of the number of poster and paint units in the plant, maintain a consistent leasing effort to ensure proper numbers and locations of panels, relocate units to eliminate obsolete locations, maintain all structures in accordance with Employer’s standards, and maintain an ongoing maintenance program on all structures.
  • Maintain Vehicles, buildings, and grounds in accordance with Employer’s policies.
