About The Position

Provide dispatch support services for a variety of Transit Operations. TRANSIT DETAILS: Paratransit: provides complementary ADA transportation for those with disabilities. Hours of operations: Monday - Friday 5:45am - 11:00pm UW Roundup: provides fixed route bus service. UW Roundup & Paratransit operate simultaneously. SafeRide: provides alternate night and weekend public transportation Hours of operations: Monday - Saturday 9:30pm - 2:30am Saturday & Sunday 9:30pm - 10:30pm Scheduling: Ideal position for college students or those needing flexibility in scheduling Employees can work one or both services Scheduling is based on an availability matrix and is discussed in the interview Preference will be given to applicants that have availability to work night shifts 9:30pm - 2:30am Pay: $14.00 - $14.50/hr, depending on service hours Competitive pay raises Paid training

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) compliant with the Driving for University Business SAP.
  • Must be able to comply with the University Drug & Alcohol Policy.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening. Random drug and/or alcohol screenings will be required and will occur on scheduled shifts.
  • Pass required background check

Responsibilities

  • Quickly and accurately obtain and disseminate information from phone and radio communications simultaneously.
  • Answer/respond to phone calls & email messages from customers
  • Relay information to drivers by means of mobile radio communication.
  • Make multiple entries into a computerized dispatch system and/or other electronic software.
  • Schedule rides for passengers and dispatch drivers to those calls for service.
  • Assign equipment and vehicles to drivers
  • Document information received from riders, drivers, & supervisors.
  • Deposit daily fares
  • Other administrative duties as assigned
