About The Position

This entry level position will make immediate contributions to the team responsible for Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) transient analyses, while being technically mentored by a team of high performing engineers. The individual will work within an energetic team environment to perform thermal hydraulic and plant transient analyses to support a variety of applications including BWR reload analysis, power uprate and new power plant analyses. The position offers limitless opportunity to learn the fundamental bases of nuclear power plant operations and safety analysis by applying state-of-the-art thermal hydraulics methods to satisfy licensing requirements and solve real day to day plant problems. Additionally, this position has direct customer-facing opportunities through training, deliverables, and collaboration. The transient analysis team offers unique opportunities to create and/or improve cutting-edge automation and methods. The individual will lead a variety of projects including technical evaluations and analyses in the area of plant transients, thermal hydraulics, Anticipated Transients without Scram, Heat Balances and thermal hydraulic fuel channel analyses. This individual will deliver products at a consistently high and sustainable level in accordance with customer requirements, business procedures, and regulatory agency guidelines.

Requirements

  • B.S. Degree in Engineering Discipline (Nuclear, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or similar).

Nice To Haves

  • Background in power plant or process plant thermal hydraulics.
  • Experience with BWR core simulation and thermal-hydraulic systems codes.
  • Possess fundamental knowledge of BWR Systems and integrated plant response.
