As a senior Transfusion Medicine SME, you will apply advanced clinical and analytical expertise to solve complex challenges in blood supply chain management and transfusion practices. You will advance technical knowledge supported by full industry insight to develop innovative solutions for global blood safety and expeditionary programs. In this role, you will work with limited direction and may mentor team members. What You'll Work On: Apply advanced knowledge of transfusion medicine to evaluate and report on blood product compatibility. Conduct assessments of blood supply chains in different countries, including collection, processing, storage, and distribution practices. Provide expert guidance on blood typing, crossmatching, and compatibility testing, considering variations in international standards. Prepare high-quality technical documents, reports, and briefings for military, government, and healthcare stakeholders. Serve as a liaison between leadership, clinical providers, and internal teams to ensure alignment of transfusion practices and supply chain strategies. Advise on best practices for managing blood resources in operational and clinical settings. Deliver presentations and briefings to senior leadership and advisory boards on findings and recommendations. Maintain current knowledge of international blood regulations and assess the quality and safety of foreign blood systems. Prepare country comparability reports and recommendations for acceptance or rejection of foreign-sourced blood products. Track and review international standards, participate in global conferences, and represent organizational interests in working groups. Support planning and implementation of donor screening procedures for operational environments. Manage donor screening processes, testing services, and result reporting. Establish and maintain a robust walking blood bank program, including SOP standardization and quality control measures. Develop and deliver training for collection, transfusion, and storage of fresh whole blood. Prepare reports on program activities, donor demographics, and performance metrics.
