About The Position

Geisinger is proud to offer a full time Transfer Team Technician a minimum hiring rate of $15.25, with increased rates for experienced individuals and up to $3 shift differentials for evening, nights, and weekend shifts! Also offering up to $40,000 in financial support to become a nurse! The position serves as the Primary Source for Best Practice techniques in the mobilization of patients, ensuring patient and caregiver safety at all times. Responsibilities include planning, prioritizing, organizing, and performing patient lifts or repositioning, utilizing appropriate lifting devices and equipment. The technician will also assist nurse educators with staff education and training in the use of patient lifting equipment and appropriate lifting techniques.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) required.
  • No prior experience required; comprehensive on-the-job training provided.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prioritize, organize, and perform patient lifts or repositioning.
  • Ensure patient and caregiver safety at all times.
  • Report equipment maintenance needs to Clinical Engineering.
  • Monitor inventory of patient lifting and transfer equipment.
  • Maintain proper hygiene of equipment on each unit.
  • Assist nurse educators with staff education and training.
  • Maintain documentation of key functions and daily tasks.
  • Communicate lifting plans to nursing staff for documentation.
  • Maintain visibility on patient care units to offer assistance.
  • Conduct quarterly inventory of lifting and repositioning equipment.
  • Promote proper body mechanics and techniques when lifting.
  • Respond appropriately in emergency situations.
