UT Health East Texas is comprised of 10 hospitals, more than 90 clinics, nearly 7,500 employees and over 1,000 licensed inpatient beds. We provide healthcare services through our hospitals, clinics, Level 1 trauma facility, air emergency fleet and EMS service.

Requirements

• Associate or Bachelor's of Nursing
• Current TX RN License
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certified

Nice To Haves

• 1-2 years in emergency or critical care hospital setting
• 1-2 years previous EMS and/or communications experience

Responsibilities

• Responsible for emergency patient transfer coordination and communications for the UT Health East Texas System.
• Work with Emergency Department, EMS, AirOne, Medical Staff, and any referring hospitals to accomplish a rapid and efficient transfer.
• Effective communication with the Medical Staff and all ancillary Emergency Service Staff in promoting safe and appropriate transfer acceptance and delivery.
• Coordinate Rapid Response Code Activations, including Trauma, STEMI, Code Stroke, and the Radiology Team.
• Coordinate for Emergency Safety and activate for Disaster Preparedness in compliance with the Safety Policy and Procedure.
• Maintain and verify the Physician On-Call Active listing for referral and Hospital distribution.
• Understand and support the UT Health East Texas Mission, Vision, and Values and adhere to hospital policies and procedures.
• Some overtime and call-back may be required.
