About The Position

Responsible for providing students with the tools, resources, and guidance to successfully navigate the transfer process from Brookdale to four-year institutions. Assist students in exploring transfer options, understanding transfer agreements, and preparing for academic and career success after Brookdale. Work collaboratively with Academic Institutes, faculty, staff, and partner colleges to develop and promote transfer opportunities, programming, and events. Collaborate with departmental colleagues to implement transfer initiatives, maintain transfer partnerships, and provide support for the department's goals and activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field is required.
  • Three years' experience in Transfer Services, Academic Advising, Student Development, or a related field is required.
  • Strong knowledge of transfer processes, articulation agreements, and student advising best practices.
  • Ability to communicate ideas, principles, and concepts effectively.
  • Computer literacy at an intermediate level, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and specialized college systems (e.g., Colleague, Learning Management System, NJ Transfer).
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to develop effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and external partners.
  • Ability to travel to other campuses and partner institutions as needed.

  • Local travel is required.

Responsibilities

  • Advise and guide students in exploring and selecting transfer pathways that align with their academic and career goals.
  • Provide information on transfer agreements, application timelines, admission requirements, scholarship opportunities, and transfer policies.
  • Support students in developing a transfer action plan and strategies for successful transition to four-year institutions.
  • Conduct workshops and presentations on transfer-related topics, including application completion, personal statement writing, and transition tips.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with faculty and staff to enhance communication, interventions, and student success.
  • Assist students with navigating tools such as NJ Transfer, university websites, and transfer advising resources.
  • Collaborate with four-year institutions to promote transfer opportunities and strengthen articulation agreements.
  • Coordinate and host transfer fairs, information sessions, and on-campus visits from university representatives.
  • Work with academic and administrative partners to implement and market joint programs and transfer initiatives.
  • Participate in advisory committees and maintain relationships with four-year colleges, professional organizations, and state/regional associations.
  • Maintain student and partner institution records in the College's Data Management System (Colleague).
  • Coordinate the design and distribution of transfer information materials for students, faculty, and staff.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of department events, including Transfer Decision Day and National Transfer Student Week.
  • Supervise assigned student employees and assist with developing and implementing training modules related to transfer services.
  • Support departmental data collection, reporting, and assessment for transfer outcomes and initiatives.
  • Other Duties.

Benefits
