Transfer Agent - Per Diem - Varies - Mobile Health
About The Position
The Transfer Agent is responsible for assisting Critical Care Transfer Nurses in coordinating safe, efficient, and legal patient transfers between acute care facilities within a fast-paced, 24/7 call center environment. Atlantic Health System, a leading non-profit healthcare system headquartered in Morristown, New Jersey, is committed to providing high-quality care and fostering the development of its more than 20,000 team members. The system includes various medical centers, a children's hospital, home care and hospice services, and Atlantic Mobile Health. Atlantic Mobile Health, a non-profit corporation, specializes in providing air and ground medical transportation services, including emergency response, non-emergency stretcher transportation, and advanced interfacility transport. The Patient Transfer Center, where this role is based, offers a service for doctors and staff to consult with specialists or initiate patient transfers to any Atlantic Health Medical Center.
Requirements
- Highly proficient in data entry and typing skills
Responsibilities
- Answer incoming calls in a timely and professional manner
- Convey accurate messages to RNs in a timely manner
- Obtain information to complete an initial intake
- Make calls to sending/receiving facilities to request/collect face sheets and demographics
- Send/Received faxes & email
- Use a variety of office equipment
- Call and arrange the correct mode of transports for patients
- Prepare various reports, case audits, and other duties as assigned
- Assist with training of new hires
