About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Transcritical CO₂ Refrigeration Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair advanced CO₂ refrigeration systems in commercial and supermarket environments. This role requires strong technical expertise with transcritical CO₂ booster systems, controls, and high-pressure components, along with a commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. Requirements

  • 3+ years of commercial refrigeration experience
  • Hands-on experience with transcritical CO₂ systems
  • EPA Universal Certification
  • Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of supermarket refrigeration systems and controls platforms
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Lift, carry, or otherwise move and position objects which may weigh up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and in confined spaces.
  • Ability to work in varied weather and temperature conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Install, start up, commission, service, and repair transcritical CO₂ refrigeration systems , including booster racks, parallel compression, ejectors, gas coolers, and heat reclaim systems
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and controls-related issues
  • Perform preventive maintenance to ensure system efficiency, reliability, and regulatory compliance
  • Work with electronic controls, sensors, VFDs, valves, and pressure management systems
  • Interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, P&IDs, and technical documentation
  • Monitor system performance and make adjustments to optimize efficiency and reduce energy consumption
  • Safely handle high-pressure CO₂ systems in accordance with OSHA and industry safety standards
  • Communicate effectively with customers, supervisors, and project teams regarding system status and repairs
  • Accurately complete service reports, documentation, and time records
  • Support system upgrades, retrofits, and energy optimization initiatives
  • Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles in a professional manner
  • Adhere to all Excell Refrigeration policies and procedures.
  • Communicate with dispatch and accurately log work hours.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork and forms promptly.
  • Share customer feedback with supervisors for continuous improvement.
  • Always be professional and courteous with customers, internal management, and peers.
  • Continuously exceeds customer expectations of service.
