About the position

The Transcriptionist position at UCHealth involves transcribing dictated reports for medical records, specifically in the radiology specialty. The position is full-time, with evening shifts from Sunday to Thursday, and is primarily remote after initial on-site training.

Responsibilities

  • Transcribes dictated reports in appropriate format and according to established standards for style, punctuation, and grammar.
  • Investigates and resolves discrepancies in transcribed reports, including unclear or incomplete recordings.
  • Translates medical jargon and abbreviations into proper form.
  • Identifies and uses appropriate medical and transcription reference resources as needed.
  • Performs routine transcription within acceptable time frame.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Preferred: Associate's degree in related field.
  • Training in Medical Terminology and Human Anatomy.
  • Preferred: Certified as a Medical Transcriptionist (CMT) by the Association for Healthcare Documentation Integrity (AHDI).
  • 3 years of experience in healthcare.

Nice-to-haves
