About The Position

Requirements

  • Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two years of experience in admissions, document evaluation, bookkeeping, or a related field.
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to follow and give verbal and written instructions.
  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, database, and presentation applications.
  • Ability to organize work effectively and prioritize objectives with discretion and independent judgment.
  • Planning and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • More than a year of professional experience in an office administration role.
  • Six months of experience in college admissions, records, or departmental advising office.
  • Professional experience within TAMUS.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Experience working in Admissions or Financial Aid within an institution of higher education.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Working knowledge of the college credit system.
  • Familiarity with related student information systems such as Banner, AIS, Howdy, MOSES, and/or SLATE.

Responsibilities

  • Examine, evaluate, and enter student academic records to determine admissions eligibility using the Document Imaging Workflow System and student information system.
  • Perform in-depth analysis of specific application types for review by academic colleges and departments.
  • Examine, evaluate, and compute grade point averages as necessary.
  • Provide administrative support by answering general office emails and assisting with walk-in traffic and telephone inquiries regarding admissions-related issues.
  • Act as a liaison for representatives from educational institutions and TAMU academic advisors regarding admissions-related issues.
  • Prepare admissions-related documents and assist academic colleges with the review of admissions applications.
  • Handle special projects as assigned by a supervisor.
