About The Position

The TMS Specialist position is responsible for administering Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) treatments to patients suffering from severe, treatment-resistant depression. This role involves developing relationships with patients throughout their treatment journey, which typically consists of 35 sessions. The specialist will work closely with psychiatrists and other TMS specialists, ensuring accurate documentation and effective communication with insurance providers to facilitate patient care.

Requirements

• 2 years of healthcare experience required.
• Experience with insurance billing and coding practices required.
• Experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems required.
• High School education, GED equivalent or HiSET preferred.
• National Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program required within 6 months of hire date.
• Valid and current Basic Life Support certification required, with re-certification every two years.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to attend TMS training and obtain TMS certification.
• Ongoing education and on-the-job training.

Responsibilities

• Administer TMS treatments as directed by psychiatrists.
• Provide clerical support with prior authorization requests and insurance verification.
• Process insurance prior authorizations for TMS treatments efficiently.
• Communicate effectively with insurance companies to secure coverage for patients.
• Manage patient insurance information, including verifying eligibility and collecting co-pays.
• Track and maintain accurate insurance records specific to TMS services.
• Troubleshoot and resolve insurance claim denials.
• Stay up-to-date on insurance coding and billing practices related to TMS therapy.
• Assist with scheduling TMS appointments to optimize clinic workflow and patient access.
• Provide other administrative support as needed.
