Responsibilities: Assist investment and business groups in structuring, negotiating and facilitating new investments and related investment management considerations. Work with capital formation team on asset backed financing and liquidity facilities for Blackstone Credit & Insurance funds. Work on corporate projects related to the firm, including private and public transactions, operational matters, investor relations issues and new business initiatives. Assist in the review of marketing materials, investor communications and responses to investor inquiries. Coordinate with compliance team on transaction and investment funds-related compliance matters, including Adviser’s Act issues, trade clearance, regulatory filings and designing and testing of compliance systems. Assist in the updating and maintenance of the firm’s policies and procedures, corporate governance documents and files and research/regulatory library and filings. Support various business groups, including investment, accounting, tax, marketing, operations and middle office departments. Assist in ongoing legal aspects of operating existing investment funds, including review of contractual provisions, preparing amendments and updating and revising of investment vehicles’ offering materials. Opportunity to assist with fundraising for new investment funds. Assist in a variety of day-to-day matters faced by in-house legal group related to large, dynamic global business. Requirements

  • Seeking an attorney with 3+ years of experience from a top tier law firm to join a legal team doing challenging work in an extremely dynamic environment.
  • Must have a JD with experience in either leveraged finance, M&A, restructuring or capital markets at a top tier law firm.
  • The attorney would be a part of a highly collaborative legal and compliance group and would interact closely with the firm’s investment teams.
  • Ability to be proactive in new situations, and to manage projects and third parties, including outside counsel, is important.
  • Ability to work with a variety of personnel.
  • Must be a strong and independent thinker with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and have confidence, a conscientious work ethic, and a tolerance for ambiguity.
