Department : Safety & Security Supervisor : Mobility Manager Pay Type: Seasonal, Hourly, Non-exempt ( Not Eligible for Full-Time Benefits ) Hours: This is a part-time role requiring 15- 20 hours per week, with flexibility in scheduling. Position Summary: The Tram Driver is responsible for the safe operation of the tram, transporting guests around the paved tram trail at Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park. Tram Drivers will work with tram narrators (when available) and/or provide/operate the narration process to present an informative and enjoyable experience for guests.

Requirements

• Candidates must be at least 18 years of age.
• Valid Michigan Driver's License with a clean driving record.
• Ability to work independently and follow directions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interact effectively with guests and colleagues.
• Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a 5-panel drug screen and DOT physical in accordance with position requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate the tram safely, following all safety guidelines outlined in the Tram Manual and training.
• Perform daily pre-trip inspections of the tram to ensure it is clean, operational, and safe (including checking tire inflation, fuel levels, and cleanliness of seats).
• Undergo periodic evaluations to assess driving skills and performance.
• Engage with guests, providing top-tier customer service, assistance, and information about the park.
• Ensure a positive guest experience by maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor.
