About The Position

Serves as Chief, Training Support Center (TSC) Branch, the installation Training Support Officer, and the Manager of the Soldier Training Support Program MDEP TAVI with responsibility for the management of a variety of Training Aids, Devices, Simulations and Simulators (TADSS) and the Department of the Army Civilians and Contractors that support those TADSS. Work assignments are made with an outline of objectives and suggestions on potential difficulties.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position requires a 1-year Supervisory Probationary period.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
  • This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Carries out supervision and oversight which requires substantial coordination, integration and consolidation of several major work assignments.
  • Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work.
  • Responsible for the management of a variety of Training Aids, Devices, Simulations and Simulators (TADSS) and the Department of the Army Civilians and Contractors that support those TADSS.
  • Monitors status of all TADSS, to include Virtual and Flight Simulators and their separate components, subassemblies, parts, and expendable supplies to ensure adequate quantities of all types of training support equipment and supplies are available.
  • Monitors and evaluates contractor's performance of MILES, maintenance to ensure all products, records, information and services are provided according to performance work statements (PWS) and contract terms and conditions.
  • Participates with management staff by providing guidance on technical and related functions in planning and developing workflow, alignment of functions, and processing and operational procedures to improve existing programs.
