The Training Supervisor at DB Schenker is responsible for establishing and coordinating an organization-wide approach to training and development. This role involves managing training plans, conducting training effectiveness measurements, and overseeing the training staff to ensure high-quality training delivery. The position requires strong leadership skills and the ability to develop training programs that enhance employee performance and contribute to the overall success of the organization.

  • Establishes and coordinates an organization-wide approach to training and development.
  • Defines and documents cost-effective training and development plans; manages changes to plans as needed.
  • Conducts up to four levels of training measurements per course to determine training effectiveness; recommends changes to design, development, or delivery as needed.
  • Develops and maintains a training catalog outlining all internal and external courses provided by the organization.
  • Hires, trains, supervises, motivates, and develops training and development staff; manages schedules and workflow.
  • Assigns duties and monitors quality of work; assures staff conforms to organizational policies and procedures and government regulations.
  • Coordinates the documentation and tracking of completed training.
  • Defines minimum skill proficiencies for critical positions and develops a process for evaluating incumbents for the purpose of identifying strengths and weaknesses.
  • Provides internal consulting to individuals and departments on training and development opportunities that will enhance their performance.
  • Establishes a process for designing, identifying, delivering, coordinating, and evaluating seminars, workshops, courses, and training curricula to make training recommendations to management.
  • Develops and implements programs, processes, and strategies that enable managers to plan, evaluate, develop, and improve their human and organization resources to optimize their contribution to the company.
  • Prepares and monitors training budget.
  • Provides day-to-day guidance and oversight of subordinates; actively works to promote and recognize performance.
  • Keeps up to date on overall activities of the team, identifying problem areas and taking corrective actions.
  • Assists with related special projects as needed.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
  • Generally prefer 2-4 years of related supervisory experience.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, written and oral communication skills required.
  • Excellent presentation skills required.
  • Proficient on Windows based programs.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of instructional design, adult learning theory, and the performance consulting process.
  • Bilingual skills a plus.
