About the position

The Training Specialist is responsible for facilitating both technical (job-specific) skills and soft (interpersonal/people) skills training for new hires and existing employees. This role involves participating in the creation of new course content, assisting with instructional design and development, designing presentations, and helping to create job aids for various products and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as liaison with departments to remain current on technical processes, products, services, and procedures.
  • Review existing training materials to ensure they are up to date.
  • Monitor classroom space database for effective classroom scheduling and usage.
  • Demonstrate the use of adult learning theories and presentation skills.
  • Assist with researching industry training and development standards.
  • Facilitate technical (job-specific) skills and soft (interpersonal/people) skills training for new hires and existing employees.
  • Organize and manage online documentation (shared drives) to ensure easy access to training materials.
  • Monitor departmental equipment and training supplies to ensure adequate inventory.
  • Track training attendance rosters and store them in appropriate files.
  • Collaborate and partner with the Training Team on technical and soft skills trainings, projects, and teambuilding efforts.
  • Collaborate with the Human Resources Team to ensure strong partnerships are built and maintained.
  • Attend product and procedure walk-throughs as needed.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in education, Training, Communications, or related field.
  • Fluent and proficient in oral and written communication skills with the ability to demonstrate proficiency.
  • 2-3 years of experience in training and instructional design in a call center and/or corporate environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of adult learning theories and ability to apply and execute facilitation techniques.
  • Proficiency in the use of MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and office equipment.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Bi-lingual is a plus (English, Spanish, Chinese/Mandarin, etc.).
  • Experience in facilitating curriculum to Supervisor-level and below.
  • Knowledge of facilitation evaluation models.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a corporate training environment.
  • Familiarity with online training tools and platforms.
